Removal only

Here you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions about tattoo removal by Tattoo No More, the Dutch laser expert since 1995. Safe without burns, scars, or pigment loss.
Treatment
We use both a Nano and a Pico laser system. Why? Simply because these laser systems are used in 80% of all university and academic hospitals in the Netherlands.
1. Do not expose your tattoo to excessive UV light (sun or tanning bed) for 3 weeks before and after the treatment. Use a sunscreen with a high protection factor (SPF), preferably SPF 50.
2. Do not use self-tanning creams for 2 weeks before the treatment.
3. If you have a lot of hair in the area to be treated, carefully shave it off on the day of the treatment.
1. Before the treatment, we cool the skin with an ice pack.
2. The treatment is brief: on average between 5 and 15 minutes.
3. After the treatment, we apply Alhydran, an ointment that cares for and restores the skin, to your tattoo. We charge €15.00 for a 30 ml tube or €2.00 for a small package. The choice is yours, but the ointment is mandatory due to the guarantees we offer.
4. After each treatment, you will receive our aftercare flyer to take home.
5. If desired, you can rent an ice pack; we ask for a €5 deposit. We exchange the ice pack each time so you have a fresh, cold pack to cool your skin afterwards.
Everyone has a different pain threshold. Some people experience pain quickly, others less so. Our customers often describe the sensation during laser treatment as a rubber band snapping against your skin. After the treatment, your tattoo feels like a mild abrasion.
If you read the reviews, you’ll see that the vast majority find it bearable. Some even report feeling no pain at all. The sensation depends heavily on the location of the tattoo. For example, a tattoo on your ribs or fingers is more sensitive than one on your shoulder or upper arm.
You can choose to have a numbing cream applied half an hour before your treatment. In almost all cases, this means you feel absolutely nothing. The cost for this depends on the size of your tattoo.
Absolutely, you can apply a numbing cream to your tattoo, and then you will feel nothing at all! Your skin will be numb. However, you must apply the special numbing cream well over an hour before your appointment.
If you follow the instructions for the numbing cream meticulously, you will truly feel nothing. It does require some preparation.
It’s not a matter of quickly applying it just before your appointment. You must apply a 1 mm thick layer of the cream more than one hour in advance, and importantly, do not rub it in. Then cover it tightly with plastic wrap so that it warms up and the cream can penetrate deeply into the skin. Note: if you apply it too thinly, it won’t work; if you apply it too late, it won’t work either.
If you do everything as instructed, it works amazingly and you will feel nothing. We therefore recommend trying it once before your laser treatment so you can determine whether an hour is enough time for you, or if you need to leave it on longer, or even apply it more thickly. But again: if you do everything correctly, it works great and you feel nothing!
To provide the guarantees that I offer, unfortunately I do not treat all types of tattoos:
1. I do not treat tattoos larger than A5 size. They take too long and become too costly, causing people to not complete the treatment plan. That is the worst possible advertisement for me, and therefore I no longer treat such large tattoos.
2. Some tattoos are simply too deeply set or done with extremely highly pigmented ink. As a result, it may take up to 5 years for your tattoo to be completely removed. When I see that beforehand, I do not start the treatment.
3. Tattoos that have already been treated elsewhere, I do not treat. I want to be responsible for the result from start to finish. Moreover, to fulfill the guarantees I offer, it is essential that I see the tattoo in its original state.
4. I do not treat permanent makeup (PMU) because it is too risky. The composition of tattoo ink and permanent makeup ink are not the same and can cause problems that are absolutely irreversible. Hence, I do not want to take that risk with your skin.
5. We do not treat colored tattoos with certain pigments. We can only determine this after a consultation. Please note that removing a colored tattoo often takes longer than a black tattoo.
Some tattoos are deeply set or done with extremely highly pigmented ink. As a result, more treatments may be necessary and it may take longer for your tattoo to be completely removed.
